Shaping heated Copper and BrassComing soon. Basket Weaving ClassSaturday, April 14, 2012 from 8:30am to 12:00 CST. Baskets were necessary to the early American families. They were used for unlimited chores, such as gathering eggs, cheese making, shopping, and gathering the fruits of the harvest and for carrying food to the farm animals. After the crops were harvested and cold weather approached, many farm families would use their winter months making baskets. All members of the family participated in pulling splints and the actual weaving of the baskets. Basket weaving is truly an art and craft that can be shared and experience with those who appreciate and want to preserve an almost extinct American Heritage. Share the experience with a loved one and make that lasting memory. Space is limited so please call for reservations. Call 850-674-2777 or email: info@ppmuseum.org.
